Students have the option to complete the following task (in journals, on Google docs, in word and emailed) as a way to redo some of the assessments they would like to replace. This has the ability to cover assessments in writing, managing, communication.

Writing Assignment
Take on the role of a newspaper reporter and write a story on the crimes Cole committed that
led to his arrest. Your news story should cover all the basics of newspaper reporting, including
a headline and a lead paragraph containing the who, what, when, and where. The rest of the
story should outline the details including the why and how. You may wish to create quotes from
witnesses to make your story more realistic. Your story may or may not mention Cole by name,
depending on your discussion about releasing his name.
