REFERENCING HELP
A reference on your source sheet should look like:
Author’s last name, first name (if known). “Title of Article or Page”. Date of publication or last revision (if known). Name of organization / company. Date you accessed the website.                                                                                                                     Website URL.
Example:
“Big Apple History.” 2005. Educational Broadcasting Corporation.  Aug. 23, 2006

Newman, Alexander.  "Smart Animals."  2006.  National Geographic for Kids.  November 23, 2014
     http://www.nationalgeographic.com/kids

What is the date it was published or last revised?

What is the name of the organization or company of the article / page?

What is the date you accessed the website?

Zinc Saves Lives Campaign

Me to We group has launched Zinc Saves Lives campaign. Zinc deficiency is a global health challenge - 2 billion people worldwide are affected and nearly 450,000 children die every year from complications associated with zinc deficiency. One AA battery contains the amount of zinc that can save the lives of 6 children. This We Day, Tech has partnered with Call2Recycle to help keep batteries out of landfills and help get since to those who need it most. At HDC, we will set up buckets in the office and library to collect used batteries.

Leader Biography

Leader BIOGRAPHY: Come to class on Thursday with a leader in mind to start your research!

TASK:  To create a Biography of a Leader of your choice.

o    Time Magazines Top 100 Leaders for 2014: http://time.com/time100-2014/

A biography is simply the story of a life. Biographies analyze and interpret the events in a person's life. They try to find connections, explain the meaning of unexpected actions or mysteries, and make arguments about the significance of the person's accomplishments or life activities. Biographies are usually about famous or infamous people, but even a biography of an ordinary person can tell us a lot about a particular time and place. They are often about historical figures, but they can also be about people still living. Many biographies are written in chronological order. Some focus on a theme and others focus on specific topics or accomplishments.

Visual Representation of your Research for your Leader Biography will take place in ONE of the following FORMS:
o   Treasure Chest OR Suitcase of...  In your box include research and images to show your leader’s life and accomplishments
o    Writing a Picture Book about the leader…In your book, create your leader as the main character with he/she communicating how they became a leader and what they learned and accomplished in the process
o    Become your Leader…Dress up and Present your leader’s obstacles and achievements
o    Walk a Mile in your Leader’ Shoes (show us their journey) Recycle a pair of shoes and illustrate them with your research and images to show who your leader is
o    When you Close your Eyes and think of Leadership what do you See... Create a podcast or audio recording of your leader’s life
o    Their Stamp on History… Create a 3 stamp series to commemorate your leader and provide a written explanation
o    Create a Heritage Minute…In 90seconds, represent the significance of your leader
